The Power Of Obeying God's Word for Wives

Whatever God commands us to do we strive to do in obedience.  For wives there are many commands and many helps from God to equip a wife to be obedient, faithful, and wise. Philippians 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 2 Thessalonians 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Matthew 5:16 KJV Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven . Wives: The degree to which you submit to your husband is the degree to which you submit to the Lord. Colossians 3:18   Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Ephesians 5:24   Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. James 3:17 KJV But the wisdom that is from above is first

Testimony of a Brother In Jesus Christ

With Wisdom Comes Vexation and Anguish

How True This Seems To Be Ecclesiastes 1:18  For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow. wisdom  חָכמָה chokmah (chok-maw') n-f. wisdom (in a good sense). -this is more like being skilled and possessing wit.  grief  כַּעַס ka`ac (kah'-as) n-m.    כַּעַשׂ ka`as (kah'-as) [in Job] vexation. knowledge  דַּעַת da`ath (dah'-ath) n-e. knowledge. -this is more informational such as being aware of something is to have knowledge on that. sorrow מַכְאֹב mak'ob (mak-oɓe') n-m.    מַכְאוֹב mak'owb (mak-oɓe') [sometimes]    מַכְאֹבָה mak'obah (mak-o-ɓaw') [feminine, Isaiah 53:3] 1. anguish. 2. (figuratively) affliction. root from word of meaning: grief, pain, sorrow

An Abusive Spouse: What to Do?

1 Corinthians 5:11  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. EXTORTIONER:  The Greek determines this is an adjective.  Remember what an adjective is: a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it. A person that acts like an EXTORTIONER: 1. exceedingly and violently greedy, ravenously predatory, extortionate, rapacious. 2. (thus) taking great pleasure in pursuing and successfully exploiting others (while thinking highly of themselves). RAILER : adjective again. abusive. COVETOUS : adjective holding (desiring) more, i.e. eager for gain (avaricious, hence a defrauder) drunkard, idolater, and fornicator are more obvious. Many narcissists are all of these things. What to do if you are married to narcissistic/abusive spouse? Does the spou

Know It All Believers Are At Risk

John 9:39-41 KJV And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind . 40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth . Galatians 6:3 KJV   For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

The Tongue

James 3:1-11 KJV  1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man

A New Commandment Or Not?

It seems I've always thought that Jesus gave a new commandment of Love they neighbor as thyself. But the new commandment Jesus gave was more like, love each other as I have loved you. So that is very different from what is written in Leviticus: Leviticus 19:18 KJV Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. And I was thinking Jesus was giving a new commandment for us to love one another as He has loved us. Well, it does look like this was Jesus telling the disciples that were with him that he has a new thing to tell them.  And he does: Jesus said these words to the disciples: John 13:34 KJV A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. So this is something somewhat new because it is Jesus telling His disciples to love one another as Jesus loved them.  These real people that lived were taught in person by

Dangers of Making Up Definitions That Fit Your Doctrine

Recently I listened to a sermon about miracles and if they are for today or not.  As I've experienced life as a believer in Jesus Christ I've often listened to preachers or people that have been Christian for many years and study the bible and read a lot of books about the bible and I've made many observations. Making Stuff Up: Many times teachers and preachers teach what man has taught them learning from those that have a specific doctrine and one of their rules seem to be: Thou shalt not contradict your doctrine of man. For example. I was listening to a baptist preacher speaking on what miracles are and are not. Now remember the audience he is speaking to generally speaking doesn't believe in demons having any ability to influence a believer.  Much denial come out from this false belief. I don't even think they realize they have this blind spot. Question: Define Miracle Doctrinal blind spot: Rarely acknowledging the supernatural leads to people that

Husbands, Wives, Marriage and Instruction According to God's Word

Husband and Wife in the Bible (in the KJV New Testament) Husband(s) is found 59 times. Wives is found 12 times. Wife(s) is found 75 times. Marriage is found 16 times. Marry is found 16 times. Very few of these verses are instructions for husbands and wives. These are the few instructions for husband and wife and there are no contradictions with one another: Why Did God Give Adam a Wife? Genesis 2:18-25 KJV And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: a

Marriage: A Biblical Perspective

When we think of our lives we often don't see things from the perspective of the truth we find in the bible. When we do that our definitions can be wrong and our actions based upon our realities can dictate our action, inaction and reactions. If you believe God's word to be true then you should agree with following statements. If you do not agree then you will have a different perspective of how you should live life as a human and as a spouse. Many people that name the name of Jesus Christ as Lord do not understand some simple facts and if any of these points you are confused then go to the Word of God and dig deeper.  Ask God for wisdom from Him knowing that you know He knows all and you do not. 1. God created us in His image and likeness.  That is pretty awesome. Genesis 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 2. God gave a commandment to Adam before Adam had Eve as his wife: Genesis 2:16-7

Do We Suffer as Believers? What Is Suffering?

Greek word usage in New Testament. Suffer  (english word)  is used in the New Testament in many ways in the KJV.  Here is a verse that uses the english word endure where in other places suffer is used and then this verse also uses 1 Peter 2:19 KJV For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. More detail on that above verse: 1 Peter 2:18-20 KJV Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. 19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. Sample verse selection: 2 Timothy 2:11-13 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him,
