Do We Suffer as Believers? What Is Suffering?

Greek word usage in New Testament.

Suffer  (english word) is used in the New Testament in many ways in the KJV.

Here is a verse that uses the english word endure where in other places suffer is used and then this verse also uses

1 Peter 2:19 KJV For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

More detail on that above verse:
1 Peter 2:18-20 KJV
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

Sample verse selection:

2 Timothy 2:11-13 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

In verse 12 portion:
"If we suffer, we shall also reign with him:"

I was curious what exactly the Greek word for suffer was and what it meant.

Which Covenant Was Jesus Under Before Dying on the Cross?

The answer is the Old Covenant. Galatians 4:4 KJV But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Jesus was born under the law and was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. Matthew 15:24 KJV But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Because Jesus lived under the covenant of law, His words line up with that covenant as He spoke to the Jews. Under the old covenant the only blood ever shed for people was animal blood which had no power to forgive sins or perfect the believer before God. (Heb. 7:19; 9:9; 10:1-4; 11:40) Animal's blood could only cover/atone for sin until the Lamb of God would come and take away the sin of the world and remove it as far as the east is from the west and remember it no more. John 1:29 KJV The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. If you are a true believer the...

Believers Have the Holy Spirit and Have Been Given Power to Use the Authority Jesus Has Obtained

Jesus sits far above all principality and power and might and dominion and over every name that is named. Believers have been given the Holy Spirit and because of that we also have been charged with going out and telling the good news to others and we are equipped to do anything that Jesus has for us to do accessing the authority placed in us through Jesus. Ephesians 1:20-21 KJV Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: After Jesus rose from the dead he said the following: Matthew 28:18-19 KJV  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe a...

Believer You Are Righteous! White As Snow

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ you have peace with God having been reconciled with God and you have the Holy Spirit of God living in you to teach you and to comfort you and to lead you.  You are righteous in Jesus because of what He did on Calvary by the shedding of His blood.  You are forgiven of all your sin and have been translated from the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of Light. Believe it. 1 John 1:7   KJV But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. So what cleanses us from all our sin?  The blood of Jesus Christ.  And Jesus actually became sin even though he knew no sin so that we could be made righteous.  If Jesus made you righteous then you are righteous.  To disagree with that is disagreeing with what God has done.  It is not humble to say that you are not righteous, rather it is the height of pride.  Ironi...
