Why Are So Many Christians Double Minded?

The observation we see in the world is people that call themselves Christians are trapped in sin, confused about the gospel, and don't know what God's will for them is. The question is why are there so many double minded Christians who are unstable in all their ways?

I believe the carnal mind is getting in the way.  Many are taught that after you are born again you no longer have a carnal mind because, "God doesn't make schizophrenics!" This being preached by a double minded preacher doesn't carry much weight.

It seems there are many frustrated Christians that have given up and when they do that they fall deeper in the ditch. But God's word is true and if we do what He says there is a way out.

Submitting to God's Righteousness

Truths:
-Yielding to lawlessness leads to more lawlessness.
-Submitting to righteousness leads more righteousness which leads to holiness.
-The carnal mind is enmity with God.

Even though we will never be perfect in the flesh, we can choose to not yield our members to unrighteousness.

Observation:
The carnal mind wants to justify sin and justify not submitting to God's righteousness.

The carnal mind wants to believe lies IF those lies serve to make them feel righteous without having to submit to God's righteousness.

This is one of the root problems that lead people to adopt a belief that does not distinguish the difference between justification and sanctification.

Remember:
2 Timothy 2:4 KJV
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Example:
So when the carnal mind asks the question: When is a person considered sanctified?

The carnal mind will want to text proof and find a verse to point out that they are sanctified the moment they believe which is true, but then the carnal mind will ignore all the verses about us sanctifying ourselves and submitting to the righteousness of God unto holiness.

End Result:
Believing a lie such as: we do not need to "submit to the righteousness of God" because it is impossible for us to be "Holy".

Hebrews 12:11 KJV Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

SO, the carnal mind has a thought process different than the mind of Christ.
The carnal mind operates by sight.  The mind of Christ operates by faith.

General Beliefs of Double Minded Christians

1. Once you have believed in Jesus for salvation you can stop believing in Jesus and you are still going to heaven.  They ignore the present tense requirement the bible gives that to be saved on must believe.

IS THE REQUIREMENT FOR SALVATION: BELIEVE ONCE AT A MOMENT IN TIME WITH NO NEED TO CONTINUE BELIEVING?

If not then OSAS teachers are teaching a false gospel message.

2. Finished Works Doctrine which teaches that there is nothing you as a believer should do after you get saved because Jesus did all the work on the cross.  This leads to all kinds of strange beliefs and disregarding what the bible says about sanctification after becoming a believer. This leads to a do nothing double minded confused believer that does not understand what happens after becoming saved.

IF "IT IS FINISHED" MEANS JESUS DID EVERYTHING FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION AND OUR SANCTIFICATION THEN WHY DO WE HAVE THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON EARTH TODAY IN THIS AGE?

People that believe a Finished Works Doctrine do not recognize the Holy Spirit as real in their life. And since it is all finished, then why do I even need to go to church anymore? I certainly do not need to give my money to anyone.  This false teaching leads to no power, no deliverance and confusion.

3. Hyper Grace Only teaching easily ensnares those that already believe in OSAS and Finished Works Doctrine to also believe that even though they have little evidence of grace in their life that they should worship a new god called "Grace".  Many strange spin off beliefs occur with this as well and the ditch widens.

A Slippery Slope of Unbelief
The power of God and the ministry of the Holy Spirit is quenched in these churches. There is a demonic presence in these places of worship.

This is a complicated net whereby belief is considered a work, lack of faith manifests none of the promises of God, and confusion abounds.

Dealing with issues is not possible because, "It is finished" and other vague statements to supposedly saved people say you don't need to do anything and even if you do address a problem there is no power of God to help because of a lack of faith.

Double minded pastors, leaders and attenders is the norm.  Sermon after sermon with the primary theme and empty/vague catch phrases such as: "it is finished!", "grace, all that you need, more than enough." (enough what? grace who?).

Although they do not see it, faith is the enemy of these types of believers because there are many without faith.

In order to not rock their boat they just say, "hey, if you ever said you believe then you are good.  God does the rest.  Or rather grace does the rest."  They speak of grace as if it is a synonym to Jesus.

Jesus was never called grace. Grace is an attribute of God and we receive God's grace, but we do not worship grace.  Similarly we don't worship God's power or His love or His creation or any blessing He gives. We thank Him and praise Him because He loves us and because He created us not because we approve of the gifts He gives.

You can see the insane logical conclusion arrived at if grace is worshipped.  Then we could worship love, peace, joy, and all of God's attributes.  We worship God and making an idol out of an attribute that could be wrongly assigned as God's attribute can lead to problems.

Why? Grace without truth is not God's grace. So if you get up and preach about God's grace and then you slip into error about that and you start saying things that aren't biblical about grace then you are not talking about God's grace anymore.  You are speaking lies. People that believe those lies become spiritually blinded, in the ditch, double minded, and are powerless to be delivered of their false beliefs and issues.

So Why Do These People Remain In The Ditch?
So these people flock together and are miserable together and do not leave the flock because they already feel like they aren't getting things right at least they can "go to church".  Then they are trapped in a net of time wasting and lies. They have no others to turn to because these things are culturally rooted and they are fairly separated from other Christians. When someone comes in that doesn't believe their false doctrines they defend those doctrines as if they are the gospel, but they rarely defend the gospel.

It is an observable mess.

Wisdom, Correction, Obedience, Growing in Jesus Christ

Proverbs 3:11 KJV My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: Proverbs 15:9-11 KJV The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness. Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die. Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men? Proverbs 23:12-13 KJV Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge. Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Proverbs 11:24-25 KJV There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. Does a Christian Need to Daily Ask God for Forgiveness?

In my estimation it seems that most Christians believe that all our sins are forgiven by the blood of Jesus. There is also a contrary teaching prevalent within most denominations that we must daily go to God to ask for forgiveness of our sins in order to be forgiven and be "right with God" by using one scripture (1 John 1:9). Do you see a conflict with these two beliefs? If you believe that you are not right with God unless you are confessed up then you must also make certain that you do not forget to ask forgiveness of every sin you commit.  So then comes the question you must ask is: What is sin?   Anything not of faith is sin. Romans 14:23 KJV And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. So then the good news is no longer so good because  you need to work very hard to keep up with all your sins in order that you can confess them and ask for forgiveness (even though you also believe that you...
