Functioning from the Wrong Mind As a Believer In Christ

Believers have access to the mind of Christ.  But believers also have access to the carnal mind.  But the carnal mind is enmity with God and cannot discern spiritual things ever.  That is what God's word says not my opinion.  Your carnal mind is not going with you after this life.  Believers are made new but living believers still have the carnal mind and must not exalt it anymore otherwise they will be double minded.  And a double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

The carnal mind says, "Oh no the doctors just said I have ALS.  I hope and pray that the doctors can heal me even though they give no evidence that medicine can heal me."  But as a believer this person also has access to the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ that we as believers have access to agrees with the promises of God's word.  God's word promises healing.  Believers that study that out and exalt the mind of Christ over the carnal mind can see supernatural healing.

Before Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden there was no death or sickness or disease.  After Adam fell death and sickness and disease were in the world.  So where does sickness come from?

There is power in words and thought

Proverbs 4:20-22 KJV
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Proverbs 18:21 KJV
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverbs 23:7 KJV
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Romans 4:17 KJV
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

God's Word is Powerful and Sustains Us

Hebrews 4:12 KJV
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Jesus paid for our sins and for our infirmities and sickness and disease

Isaiah 53:5 KJV
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 KJV
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Capture All Thoughts and Put Them Under the Subjection of the mind of Christ

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

What Is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1 KJV
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

We Battle Against the Enemy of Our Souls Not People

Ephesians 6:12 KJV
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

James 1:5-8 KJV
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Jesus Was Manifested to Destroy the Works of the Devil

1 John 3:8 KJV
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

John 10:10 KJV
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Jesus Said to them, "Have faith in God" and "what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

Mark 11:13-14 KJV
And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Mark 11:20-24 KJV
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Which Covenant Was Jesus Under Before Dying on the Cross?

The answer is the Old Covenant. Galatians 4:4 KJV But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Jesus was born under the law and was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. Matthew 15:24 KJV But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Because Jesus lived under the covenant of law, His words line up with that covenant as He spoke to the Jews. Under the old covenant the only blood ever shed for people was animal blood which had no power to forgive sins or perfect the believer before God. (Heb. 7:19; 9:9; 10:1-4; 11:40) Animal's blood could only cover/atone for sin until the Lamb of God would come and take away the sin of the world and remove it as far as the east is from the west and remember it no more. John 1:29 KJV The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. If you are a true believer the...

If It Is God's Will To Heal Then Why Did This Person Not Get Healed By Christian Number 1?

This article was taken from a post Steve Harmon made about two years ago which illustrates what most Christians pray and expect when they pray for healing.  And the result is nothing.  He explains why: When I was at this church, there was this lady who had a horrible migraine. It was so bad that she had to get injections to numb the pain. After church was over, she was leaving and a Christian prayed for her. I knew this lady was not going to get healed when this Christian prayed. The reason was because of this Christian’s faith, meaning, I knew how she believed overall. The Christian doesn’t believe it’s God’s will for all to be healed, only some. The Christian believes that God is in control of everything. Also, they’ve seen so much disappointment that their motivation is almost completely shot. The prayer that the Christian gives is more of a comfort prayer than anything. The Christian hugs and consoles the lady with the migraine, as if that is going to make the migrain...

Baptist Doctrine of Once Saved Always Saved Commentary Jim Richards

Attitude of Once Saved Always Saved Why is it so common for baptists to want to pick a fight with everyone in hopes to defend their belief in once saved always saved? It seems ironic to me that a fellow believer would need to have a doctrine to help them believe they are saved when there is scripture that says that the Spirit of God confirms with us that we belong to God.  A lack of confidence indicates a lack of faith and salvation is obtained by grace through faith.  Without faith it is impossible to please God.  Without faith you cannot participate in the promises of God for anything.
